Therapy Advisory Unit

The Therapy Advisory Unit (TAU) commenced in the Department of Health and Children on September 27th 2004, following the recommendation of the Expert Review Group, with the appointment of the first Chief Therapist Advisor, Bernie Mc Nally. Two further Advisors; Sinead McEvoy and Marie Byrne were appointed in early 2006. The TAU has been established for 6 professions, namely:

• Physiotherapy
• Speech and Language Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Dietetics
• Chiropody/Podiatry
• Orthoptics
